With digital campaigns, NGOs can give their own topics more visibility, find supporters and put pressure on decision-makers. How do NGOs manage to create effective online campaigns — and how can you set up a digital campaign yourself?
Format and Content
The two Workshop- Sessions will provide you a very condensed and accelerated overview of digital campaigning, designed to help you understand the fundamentals. We will focus on a six-step model of digital campaigning that will provide participants with a practical framework on which to build their campaigning ideas.
Between Day 1 and Day 2 participants will be expected to work in small teams to develop a draft campaign idea using the six-step model. Each team will give a brief presentation on Day 2, where other teams will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Michael Borum and Almut Huss will facilitate the training. Michael has worked in digital for 28 years, in both the private sector and non-profits. He has been with Oxfam since 2007, working for its US affiliate as Digital Rights and Influencing Advisor. Almut is policy advisor on development topics at VENRO.
The workshop is aimed at staff of German development NGOs and their partner organizations. You are therefore cordially invited to forward this invitation to your colleagues in the global south. Tandems of German employees and partners are welcome. The sessions will be in English. Participation is free of charge. The number of participants is limited. This workshop is already fully booked. Registrations are no longer possible.
