Rethinking partnerships in humanitarian action

Most German humanitarian NGOs work with local or national partner organisations. But are these equitable partners? The intention to localise, improve partnerships and at the same time fulfil donor requirements can be difficult to navigate. In this seminar, we would like to discuss how equitable partnerships between local, national and German NGOs can be established and maintained.

Contents

  • What does equitable partnership mean in my organisation?
  • What is my organisation already doing to establish equitable partnerships with partner organisations?
  • What works well? What could be improved?
  • How to maintain equitable partnerships?

Target group

Target group are staff of German and local/national humanitarian NGOs that are in close contact with their partner organisations and managers/team leads of humanitarian programme departments of NGOs working with partner organisations. We kindly ask German NGO colleagues to forward this invitation to their local and national partners.

The seminar will be facilitated by Carolin Gomulia and Vanessa Buvens. Carolin has worked with numerous NGOs and INGOs on strategy, business and organisational development as well as localisation and partnership.
