Digital Civic Space - Rights in a Digital Age

NGOs are finding that our 20th century tools are no longer suitable to the multiple crises that face us in the 2020s. We must adapt our thinking and our missions quickly to the rapid social and political disruptions – and opportunities – that accompany digitalization in all parts of the world.

But how to begin? Join us for a presentation and discussion about “Rights in a Digital Age” on 16 September at 2 – 3.30 p.m. (CET) with Michael Borum, who has worked in digital for 28 years, in both the private sector and non-profits. He has been with Oxfam since 2007, working for its US affiliate as Digital Rights and Influencing Advisor.

In this event, we will explore the key dimensions of rights in the digital age and the principles underpinning the growing movement to protect and defend human rights and civil society in this brave new world.

This online event is directed at NGO staff working in the field of lobby, advocacy and/ or shrinking civic spaces. It will be held in English.

Registration is possible on our website until places are filled. Please note that there is a limited amount of registrations possible only as we would like to create a safe space for discussions.
