The High-level Political Forum (HLPF) monitors to what extent the goals of the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development are realized on a global level. However, the HLPF is a weak institution as it lacks any decision-making powers. In our standpoint, we address the urgent need to strengthen the HLPF with regard to binding decision-making, reporting and its participation formats.
