Partnership review and partner dialogue

Partnership review and partner dialogue

16 June, 23 June and 7 July 2021, online

Facilitators: Smruti Patel and Koenraad van Brabant

Raising sensitive issues between organisations collaborating in partnership can be very challenging. One key is about developing and maintaining a trusting and equitable partnership, another key is to review partnerships regularly and address difficult issues such as corruption prevention, risk management, safeguarding or problematic behaviour.

The seminar consists of three online sessions with two practical phases between the sessions. The sessions are designed to facilitate peer learning, enriched with inputs from national/local agencies and other guest speakers. The seminar is directed at experienced staff of German and local/national humanitarian NGOs.

Smruti Patel and Koenraad van Brabant from the Global Mentoring Initiative will facilitate the sessions. They bring many years of experience working in humanitarian action and in localisation and partnership debates, research and organisational accompaniment.

The seminar is part of a joint project of the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) of Ruhr-University Bochum and VENRO. This seminar can be credited for the "Certificate of Advanced Studies in Locally-Led Humanitarian Action". Participants who would like to receive a certificate have to take part in a course exam (practical sessions and report).

To enable interactive sessions, the number of participants is limited. Participants are expected to take part in all three sessions and the practical phases. The sessions will be in English. Participation is free of charge.

Please register online until 30 May 2021.
