NGOs face the ongoing challenge of designing project and program work that achieves sustainable and meaningful change. In this context, the Theory of Change approach has become increasingly important, as it supports the systematic planning of long-term impact goals, encourages critical reflection on underlying assumptions, and enables strategic adjustments. A solid application of the Theory of Change helps to sharpen project focus, strengthen impact orientation, and improve transparent communication with donors and partners.
During this online training, participants will receive a practical introduction to the Theory of Change (ToC) and learn how to use this method for strategic planning and proposal development.

- Introduction to the Theory of Change approach and its key elements (impact logic, assumptions, risks, indicators)
- Planning impact: understanding challenges and needs; Setting impact objectives
- Developing the Theory of Change in cooperation with partner organizations

Target Group
This training is aimed at project managers and project officers from German development NGOs and their partner organisations.
Trainer
Linnéa Ricardo is a freelance facilitator with four years of experience working on topics relevant to the NGO sector, including project development, fundraising, organizational development, intercultural cooperation, and women’s empowerment. She specializes in impact-oriented project design using the logframe and Theory of Change. She has extensive practical experience from her work with MitOst e.V. and has facilitated numerous online workshops for “Emcra – Co-Shaping Europe,” combining theoretical input with interactive, practice-oriented learning.
