Training of Multipliers: Facilitating an Impact Oriented Monitoring Meeting

VENRO

25. September 2025, 13:00 – 17:00 CET, Online

Impact orientation ensures that resources are used efficiently, interventions achieve their intended objectives, and have a positive influence on the living conditions of local communities. Observing impacts focuses on identifying, describing, and measuring changes brought about by the outcomes of development cooperation interventions. On the project level, impact orientation means considering the effects of initiatives from the outset, in collaboration with partners and target groups. On the organizational level, it involves fostering learning through monitoring and evaluation processes.

Content

This training of trainers and multipliers is aimed at anyone working in development cooperation, humanitarian aid or peacebuilding who would like to expand their skills in facilitating a meeting on impact orientation. We will cover the topics of attitude of a good facilitator, meeting preparation, conducting the meeting in an effective and participative way as well as key questions for reflecting monitoring data.

Participants will gain an insight into facilitation tools and creating trust for a learning environment. This will not be a training on impact orientation, thus participants should already have a basic understanding of impact orientation beforehand.

Target Group

Target group are employees of German development (I)NGOs and their partner-organizations working in the development sector, who want to convey impact orientation in their team or their partner organisations. Participants should already have a basic understanding of impact orientation - which has been acquired either by attending a VENRO basic module or similar training courses. We kindly ask you to share this invitation with your partner organisations. Tandems of German employees and partners are welcome.
