Providing overheads is a crucial step in promoting a more locally-led humanitarian response. Guidelines on sharing overhead costs provide guidance for German NGOs and their local and national partner organisations. However, the development of the guidelines poses challenges for many NGOs. In the first part of this workshop, we will have a closer look at definitions of different types of costs. In the second part, we will jointly work on a structure for overhead cost sharing guidelines.
Target group
German humanitarian NGOs and their local/national partner NGOs who would like to engage in developing a template for overhead cost guidelines that they can use as an inspiration for their own guidelines. Participants should already have basic knowledge on the debates on overhead costs and the practices in their organisations.
Facilitator
The exchange seminar will be facilitated by Carolin Gomulia and Karoline Krähling.
Format
The workshop will be an interactive, hybrid workshop in English and German.
