We cordially invite you to the launch of the new NGO-Report “Courage for Democracy - How civil society organisations are strengthening freedom and participation around the world”.
The hybrid event will take place on the 02nd of November 2026 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm (CET) in Berlin and online.
The NGO-Report highlights the global engagement of VENRO member organisations and their partner organisations in preserving, strengthening and developing democratic structures. Against the backdrop of growing authoritarian tendencies and shrinking civic space, the publication shows how NGOs defend, open and shape democratic spaces.
We are delighted to announce that German Federal Minister Reem Alabali Radovan of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) will join us to discuss civil society’s contribution to strengthening democracy despite shrinking civic spaces, alongside a panel of contributors to the report.

Format
The Launch will be a hybrid event. We're inviting both VENRO-member organisations and their partners. For people who work in Germany, we offer on-site participation; people who work in (partner) organisations in other parts of the world are welcome to join us digitally. We kindly ask you to share this invitation with your partner organisations.
Costs
Participation in the event is free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs must be organised and paid by the participants themselves.
