In February 2022, the European Union and the African Union agreed to a common vision for their partnership. This should create a new and improved quality of cooperation between the two continents. At the same time, the German government promises a paradigm shift in migration policy. In our statement, we analyze the debates on African-European migration policy and formulate requirements for the federal government to design a human rights-based migration policy.
