In 2009, Germany signed the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The signatory states are regularly reviewed in their implementation. In order to accompany the implementation process from a civil society perspective, 37 organisations, including VENRO, founded the "Alliance of German Non-Governmental Organisations on the UN CRPD" under the leadership of the German Disability Council (Deutscher Behindertenrat, DBR). Just in time for Germany's second status review and the "constructive dialogue" between the federal delegation and the responsible UN committee on 29 and 30 August 2023 in Geneva, the Alliance has published its parallel report on the implementation of the UN CRPD.
